McGaheysville, Va. – February 14, 2019 – Massanutten Resort today announced details of its highly anticipated 2019 Snow Moon Fest, as the popular event returns Friday, March 1, through Sunday, March 3.

The second annual event will feature three spirited days of snow sports, live entertainment, fireworks and other fun-filled activities including the torchlight parade to wrap up another successful winter season on the mountain. Adding to the celebration, the premier all-season resort is offering budget-friendly discounts on lodging and amenities for those wishing to stay on property for the entire event.

“This year’s Snow Moon Fest will feature adrenaline-pumping activities perfect for adventurers, solo travelers, and families seeking an action-packed weekend getaway,” said Sarah Elson, director of business relations at Massanutten Resort. “We’re inviting travelers from across the globe, as well as our neighbors here in the Shenandoah Valley, to share this experience with us as we celebrate a great winter season and give back to the community we are so passionate about.”

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
This year’s line-up of events includes bonus weekend sessions of the all-new Northern Lights Tubing, a truly out-of-this-world experience. Visitors will zoom down the resort’s snow tubing hill with a backdrop of neon lights and pumping music.

Saturday kicks off with the 4K on the Fairway Race/Walk, taking place at Mountain Greens Golf Course at 10 a.m. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Elkton Area United Services, a comprehensive social service agency serving the Eastern Rockingham County. Later that evening, guests are invited to gather for the Torchlight Slope Parade and Fireworks show, which is the most popular event of the weekend.
On Sunday, the popular Arctic Plunge will return as a fundraiser to benefit Therapeutic Adventures, a non-profit charitable educational organization providing adaptive outdoor adventures and recreational and competitive sports. Plunge participants may register as individuals or as a team and are encouraged to dress in costumes and raise additional donations for a chance to win prizes including WaterPark passes, lift tickets, free vacations and more!

Saturday and Sunday’s festivities include contests for the Golf Simulator Longest Drive and XCross, freestyle ski demos, Rail Jam and more. Throughout the weekend, Campfire Grill will offer Make Your Own S’mores Kits, while Base Camp will host Tap Takeovers from local breweries. Encounters Lounge will feature live musical entertainment. Guests can refuel from the weekend action at Campfire Grill’s all-you-can-eat Brunch Buffet on Sunday morning.
