Activities, Events and Hotel Packages Announced Across Dunwoody, Embodying the Comfort and Joy of the Holiday Season

north of Atlanta, today announced a line-up of events and happenings that will transform the community into a holiday haven, all centered around the theme of “comfort and joy.” With a variety of hotel packages, festivals and shopping options, Dunwoody is the perfect spot for visitors to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays and relax as they indulge in the joyful festivities of the most wonderful time of year.
“As the holidays roll around, we understand that people get busy with event planning, family activities and get-togethers,” said Discover Dunwoody Director of Marketing Kimberly Franz. “Dunwoody is a place to escape the stress that often comes with the holiday season, getting back to the true traditions and spirit of the season. From enjoying a classic Christmas play with loved ones to sampling holiday treats or strolling through beautiful light displays around our community, there is something for everyone to enjoy here, as they relax and embrace the comfort and joy that this time of year brings.”
Light Displays:
Dunwoody will kick off the holiday season with the return of its most anticipated festive holiday event, Light Up Dunwoody. Taking place on Sunday, November 21 from 5-6 p.m., locals and visitors can gather at the Cheek-Spruill Farmhouse to ring in the season with an afternoon celebration leading up to the lighting of the Christmas tree and Menorah.
Holiday lights will also return to Brook Run Park with three times as many lights as last year. From December 1-27, visitors can view the “Hollywood Holidays”-themed display featuring more than 75,000 lights forming decorations inspired by popular holiday movies. The opening festival will take place on Wednesday, December 1, with hot cocoa and appearances by popular holiday characters.
Friends and families can gather at the second annual Ravinia Holiday in Lights on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. to experience the holidays with lights galore. Visitors will enjoy live music, a 360-degree photo booth with Santa, a hot chocolate bar, a kids’ game area and more as they celebrate the season. Those that attend are encouraged to bring a donation for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Children’s Holiday Wish List program or drop off a donation anytime between November 18 and December 16, 2021. While the event is free to the public, ticket reservations are required and can be found through the Facebook event page starting Monday, November 29, 2021.
Shopping:
Spruill Gallery will host its 28th Annual Holiday Artist Market, offering unique hand-crafted items from local artists and provide a festive shopping experience for visitors. Spruill will also host a variety of events around the market to celebrate the season and create a shopping atmosphere full of more joy and less hustle. Opening night will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 6-9 p.m., allowing shoppers to get a first look at the Artists Market while enjoying wine and light snacks. On Wednesday, December 8, a Holiday Tasting & Late Night Shopping event will happen from 6-9 p.m. allowing parents to get away for the night and get some holiday shopping done while indulging in hand-selected cheese and wine pairings. Finally, on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., visitors can meet select artists featured in the show and peruse their homemade items. From paintings and pottery to bath products and home décor, the Holiday Artists Market is the perfect place to find gifts authentic to Dunwoody.
