Atlanta Suburb Sees Expansion of Outdoor Dining and Greenspaces with Several New Developments

DUNWOODY, Ga. – September 20, 2022 – The City of Dunwoody, an ‘Edge City’ suburb located just north of Atlanta, is welcoming new outdoor gathering spaces for dining and leisure in four new developments: Perimeter Marketplace, Ashford Lane, High Street and Campus 244. Due in part to its prime location near metro Atlanta, Dunwoody is quickly becoming a hot spot for economic growth in both the business and leisure sectors, with new entertainment venues, updated office spaces, family-oriented activity options and more.

“It is our mission to provide our residents and visitors with unbeatable spaces to work, play and relax,” said Dunwoody Economic Development Director Michael Starling. “We are excited to announce Dunwoody’s newest community enhancements and cannot wait to see how they progress further.”

Perimeter Marketplace

Perimeter Marketplace, a 10-acre development anchored by Publix, has recently welcomed a mix of new local and national businesses to the area including Panda Express, Chopt, First Watch, Restore Hyper Wellness, Solidcore, Batteries Plus, Chicken Salad Chick and more. The project features a new outdoor gathering space at the corner of Ashford Dunwoody Road and Meadow Lane Road. In addition, a new commuter trail with separate pedestrian and bicycle facilities runs along Ashford Dunwoody Road and supports the City’s goal of increasing walkability throughout the Perimeter Center.

Ashford Lane

Ashford Lane is the new name for the development that includes Super Target. It was formerly known as Perimeter Place and is located at 4500 Olde Perimeter Way. The transformation of this shopping center is designed to create a mixed-use town center combining shops, restaurants, offices, and residences around a 70,000-square-foot central lawn. The Lawn at Ashford Lane will open soon and serve as a signature gathering space, where guests can dine al fresco at chef-driven restaurants while enjoying live music or hanging out with friends. Sweetgreen opened its 200th location at Ashford Lane in July, joining Brown Bag Seafood Company as one of the project’s new restaurants. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Superica are coming this fall to Ashford Lane.

High Street

Phase I of the long-awaited, mixed-use development High Street broke ground in July 2021 and is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for Spring 2024. The first phase will feature a 3/4-acre public park connecting 150,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 600 luxury apartments, 90,000 square feet of loft offices and 222,000 square feet of existing office space. Puttshack, a mini-golf bar and restaurant destination, was announced as the project’s first anchor tenant in September 2021, signing a lease for more than 26,000 square feet of space. Opening with Phase I of the $2B project, Puttshack will feature a full bar, dining, and custom-made, tech-driven mini golf courses. Also coming to High Street in 2024 is a restaurant concept called The Hampton Social. Boasting 10,000 square feet across two levels, The Hampton Social will offer guests a nautical escape with a “Rose All Day” lifestyle, coastal-inspired cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails.

Campus 244

Campus 244 is a modernization of the former Gold Kist headquarters, located near I-285 and adjacent to the Dunwoody MARTA Station. The 12-acre walkable campus will include a 380,000 square-foot, five-story building repurposed into a wide-open workspace and an upscale boutique hotel with dining, retail, and other amenities. Logistics company, Transportation Insight, recently signed a long-term lease for 174,400 square feet on the third and fourth floors of Campus 244. Additionally, Insight Global, a staffing firm based in a nearby Dunwoody office tower, signed a long-term lease for 133,700 square feet on the first and second floors. CT Cantina & Taqueria, a Mexican restaurant, is the first restaurant to sign a lease bordering the project’s planned central greenspace.
