Premier Virginia Resort Invites Guests and Community to Celebrate July Fourth Weekend with
Family-Friendly Event Featuring Live Music, Food Trucks, Fireworks and More
MASSANUTTEN, Va. – (June 14, 2023) – Massanutten Resort, a premier all-season resort located in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, recently announced the return of its highly anticipated Summer Jam Festival, which will take place Monday, July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. The family-friendly festival is open to guests staying at the resort, as well as community members. The night will feature live music, activities for the kids, wine and beer options, food trucks and fireworks. All proceeds of the event benefit the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
“Massanutten Resort has been a wonderful partner for the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA over the years and we are thrilled to join forces for the Summer Jam Festival,” Huck Nawaz, executive director at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA. “We are excited for another incredible Fourth of July celebration with proceeds benefiting more than 2,600 animals that come into our care each year.”
This year’s Summer Jam will showcase a lineup of exciting bands for attendees to enjoy while playing a variety of lawn games. Guests can enjoy the variety of food vendors in attendance, such as Big Fat Daddy’s, Bayou Kitchen, K’s Grill, Base Camp, and Your Pie Pizza, and beer and wine from Molson Coors, Blue Ridge Beverage, and CrossKeys Vineyards.
The live music will kick off with new country band, Raquel & The Wildflowers from 5 to 6:15 p.m. KiTTYBACK will then take the stage from 6:45 to 8 p.m., performing a blend of country and rock ‘n’ roll, guaranteed to be a crowd favorite. Finally, Kanye Twitty will close out the night, from 8:30 to 10 p.m., with a mix of hip pop, country and rock to entertain the whole family. The evening will end with a bang as a firework extravaganza is set off the Massanutten Peak.
“We are excited to host the 24th Summer Jam Festival as our community looks forward to our Fourth of July weekend festival all year long,” Sarah Elson, director of business relations at Massanutten, said. “We invite friends and families of all ages to join us in making lasting memories all while supporting the incredible work the RHSPCA does for our community.”
Other event activities will include Color Therapy featuring face paint, henna tattoos, tarot card reading, axe throwing, giant connect four, bongo lessons and more, along with a rendition of the national anthem.
