Fort Lauderdale, FL – September 22, 2018 – South Florida’s popular foodie event, the Gridiron Grill-Off, has more than just a new moniker this year. The refreshed, renamed ‘Walgreens Gridiron Grill-Off Food, Wine & Music Festival, presented by the UHealth Clinics at Walgreens” is slated for November 9-11, 2018 and will feature a variety of new activities, in large part due to new sponsors who have been drawn to the successful nine-year-old event.

Thanks to the City of Pompano, the now-extended three-day festival returns to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, bringing with it a multitude of exciting activations and experiences.  Hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, The Gridiron Grill-Off Concert Series, powered by the Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB’s Underground Music in Partnership with AEG Presents, will include live performances from a top-notch line-up of musical guests, including Grammy Award-winning musician Vince Gill, as well as Sister Hazel, Barenaked Ladies and Daughtry.

Through a new partnership with UPS, the 2018 event will feature an all-new, family-friendly Florida BBQ-sanctioned BBQ Pit Masters competition, showcasing the talent and passion of grillers from across the Southeast.  With the help of a new naming rights sponsor, this year’s event will debut the new Toyota Cornhole Stadium & Festival Stage.  Southeast Toyota is now onboard, as well, sponsoring the judge’s tent and stage.

“Since 2010, the Gridiron Grill-Off has paired the area’s best celebrity chefs with NFL legends together to create signature dishes – and more importantly, to create a memorable experience for event attendees,” said John Offerdahl, festival founder and former Miami Dolphins All-Pro Linebacker. “We are honored to welcome so many incredible new sponsors to our event this year, helping us extend the festival in some exciting new ways, and enhancing the impact we can make on the community with the Offerdahl Scholarship Fund and our new relationship with Broward College.”

General admission for the Gridiron Grill-Off is $85 per person, including all food and beverages at the Saturday event.  Tickets to the BBQ Pit Masters event are $10 for adults and free for kids 4 and under, which includes (10) 1oz. samples of BBQ for voting (all other food and drinks are available for purchase and does not include access to the Gridiron Grill-Off).  VIP tickets, which include a gift bag and access to a private tent on-site with seating, shade, food and beverages – sponsored by Bacardi – are $125 per person.
