New Event Series Underway at Historic College Park Golf Course; Atlanta Dream
Returns to Gateway Center Arena for 16th Season with Refreshed Concessions and More
ATLANTA – May 22, 2023 – Marking the arrival of spring, Gateway Center Campus – comprised of the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), Gateway Center Arena and Historic College Park Golf Course – today announced several updates and new events. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy warmer weather with an array of activities across the campus including the 2023 Historic College Park Golf Course Summer Series and the return of the WNBA Atlanta Dream, with the team’s home opener on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Gateway Center Arena. The Gateway Center Campus facilities are located in the thriving ATL Airport District, known for its lively arts and culture scene and diverse dining options.
“While the Gateway Center Campus is known for offering quality entertainment, we are springing into the new season with an action-packed schedule of family-friendly events and activities,” said Mercedes Miller, executive director of the Gateway Center Campus. “We can’t wait for the return of our Atlanta Dream and look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to our golf course, where we are hosting monthly tournaments throughout the next several months.”
The Atlanta Dream returns to its home court at the Gateway Center Arena for its 16th season on Sunday, May 28, with a star-studded opening day line-up. The 2023 season features a 40-game schedule with 13 home games. Of the Dream’s first 10 games, seven are Commissioner’s Cup match-ups. Additionally, two Atlanta Dream home games, July 22 against the Connecticut Sun and July 25 against the Phoenix Mercury, will be nationally broadcast across ESPN platforms. In conjunction with the return of the Atlanta Dream, Proof of the Pudding @GICC, the Gateway Center Arena’s exclusive food and beverage provider, is now offering an elevated culinary experience with carefully crafted concession menus. Permanent concession stands located at the front of the Arena include Nouveau, a local favorite known for Catfish Grits and Chicken & Waffles, and Post Oaks, which serves a variety of foods and snack options. Other on-site dining options available during Arena events this season include Ethan’s Italian Ice & Gelato, Supreme Burger, STR8OUTOFPHILLY, Popcorn Remix and more.
The Historic College Park Golf Course officially kicked off its 2023 Summer Series with the Greenskeepers Revenge on Monday, April 10, and will offer recurring events each month through August.
